Curve Lake First Nation

Curve Lake First Nation (CLFN), located northeast of Peterborough, Ontario, is a resilient and culturally rich Indigenous community. Known for its deep-rooted traditions and historic achievements, CLFN is home to Canada’s first female Indigenous Cheif, Elsie Knott, as well as notable artists and the renowned Whetung’s Art Gallery. With a population of around, 2,700, the community is dedicated to preserving its culture, language, and traditional ways while embracing sustainable development. Guided by a robust governance structure, CLFN continues to honour its heritage and set a positive example for surrounding First Nations.

Ongoing & Past Projects

  • KLB Consulting, in collaboration with White Otter Consulting, is developing an Economic Development Strategic Plan for Curve Lake First Nation. This plan aims to foster long-term sustainability and adaptability, aligning with the community’s evolving priorities and aspirations. Designed to support growth that resonates with the values of Curve Lake First Nation, the strategic plan will incorporate mechanisms for regular evaluation, ensuring that administrative and organization practices adapt over time. Our commitment is to create a living document that remains responsive to the community’s needs and paves the way for a resilient and prosperous future.
