  • KLB Consulting developed a strategic plan for Community Futures South Georgian Bay (CFSGB) to refine internal processes and strengthen community relationships. This five-year roadmap guides the Board and staff in decision-making, budgeting, and planning, while enhancing partnerships and resource allocation.

    The plan is based on extensive research, including regional industry trends, socio-economic factors, and COVID-19 impacts, ensuring CFSGB is well-prepared to address current challenges and future opportunities.

  • In collaboration with Oosterbaan Strategy, KLB Consulting developed the Orillia 5-Year Economic Development Strategic Plan (2025-2029). This comprehensive guide aims to drive economic growth and development in the City of Orillia by focusing on key initiatives to leverage future growth opportunities. The plan includes fostering new and expanding industries, enhancing the local economic ecosystem, and creating a vibrant quality of place.

    The strategy was crafted through an in-depth background review, asset identification, community consultations, and competitive analysis. This approach identified and unlocked Orillia’s most valuable opportunities for sustainable economic growth.

  • In December 2021, the Chippewas of The Thames First Nation (COTTFN) engaged KLB Consulting to conduct an Economic Assessment focused on tourism as a development opportunity for their Heritage Hub. The assessment aimed to support self-sufficient economic development and cultural revitalization through cultural tourism. KLB Consulting evaluated how tourism could enhance both economic growth and the preservation of the Nation’s cultural heritage.

  • KLB Consulting hosted a Youth Entrepreneurship training program in collaboration with the Chippewas of the Thames Justice Department. This six-week course offered participants the opportunity to learn from industry experts and culminated in the inaugural “Bear’s Lair” competition, where young entrepreneurs could showcase their business ideas and gain valuable experience.

  • KLB Consulting hosted "The Power of Feminist Economics" course, designed to empower Indigenous women through entrepreneurship. This course focused on teaching the principles of feminist economics and how they can be leveraged to drive successful business ventures. Participants gained valuable insights and skills to harness the power of entrepreneurship for economic and personal growth.

  • KLB Consulting hosted experiential tourism training for community members of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation. This program provided hands-on learning experiences to help participants develop skills in creating and managing immersive tourism experiences. Chatham-Kent / Wheatley

  • Kyra Knapp from KLB Consulting has been appointed as the Economic Development Officer for Wheatley by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. In this role, Kyra is spearheading a two-year mission to revitalize the town following the August 2021 gas explosion. She will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive recovery strategy, supported by a $450,000 provincial budget, to drive Wheatley's economic recovery and growth.

Ginawaydaganuc Village

  • Ginawaydaganuc Village selected KLB Consulting's very own Kyra Knapp for her exceptional skills and passion for their project. Her strategic vision and dedication have been instrumental in advancing GV's goals and ensuring the success of their initiatives.

  • KLB Consulting developed a strategic plan for Ginawaydaganuc Village (GV), detailing its benefits for Indigenous Peoples, emissions goals, and regional tourism. KLB’s work includes recommending property selection and regulatory guidance from a professional planner.

    The plan outlines the need for an Economic Development Officer and a capital campaign to support infrastructure costs. It advises delegating specialized functions to agencies and adopting a hybrid board role with an Executive Director/CEO. KLB also highlights strategies for addressing staffing challenges, such as competitive wages and benefits.

  • KLB Consulting developed a fundraising plan for Ginawaydaganuc Village (GV) to support its long-term sustainability and goal achievement. The plan outlines:

    • GV’s organizational and funding goals.

    • A SWOT analysis of the fundraising environment.

    • Target audience and strategies.

    • Specific fundraising campaigns with an action plan, timelines, and KPIs.

    • Donor relationship and retention strategies.

  • In addition to creating strategic plans and fundraising campaigns, KLB Consulting has assisted with the development of marketing materials for Ginawaydaganuc Village (GV). This includes designing branded brochures, business cards, and posters, as well as providing guidelines for volunteers to use during fundraising initiatives. These materials support GV’s outreach efforts and enhance its overall fundraising strategy.

Gulf Island Seaplanes

  • As an authorized tourism industry advisor for Indigenous Tourism British Columbia, KLB guided Gulf Island Seaplanes, an Indigenous-owned business offering charter and commercial seaplane flights, in developing a unique inflight tourism experience rooted in Indigenous stories, covering all aspects from pre-piloting preparation to marketing, with a market launch planned for spring 2024.

Haldimand County

  • Working alongside Tourism Haldimand and Haldimand County, KLB led four operators in a 5-month project to market tourism experiences through expressions of interest, site tours, training, coaching, and digital marketing, integrating local B2B partnerships for diversity, sustainability, and community connectedness, with a focus on local foodways and off-season tourism.

  • KLB Consulting developed a comprehensive three-year Strategic and COVID Recovery Plan for the Leamington Arts Centre (LAC). This plan supports the LAC’s role as a key community asset and cultural pillar in Leamington, Ontario. It respects the traditional territories of the Anishnaabeg, Attiwonderonk, Myaamia, and Mississauga peoples and aims to honor their history and ongoing relationship with the land.

    The plan addresses the operational impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing the need for a sustainable funding structure to support consistent staffing and long-term goals. It provides a framework for restructuring the organization to ensure financial sustainability, aiming for the LAC to become a self-sustaining, resilient community pillar by 2026.

  • KLB Consulting assisted the Leamington Arts Centre by developing marketing materials for their Naming Rights Sponsorship Opportunities. This support included creating engaging social media posts and designing a brochure, which was printed and distributed to members visiting the centre.   • KLB Consulting created a strategic fundraising plan for Royal City Science (RCS) to support the Royal City Science Centre (RCSC) construction and ongoing STEAM events. The plan provides a roadmap for all stakeholders, clarifying roles and priorities.

TJ Stables offers horseback riding for all ages, hosts Acceptional Riders—a therapeutic riding program for people with disabilities—and is home to the Canadian Cowgirls, a rodeo riding drill team that tours across Canada and the US.
